Tribute bands are not just about sounding like their famous counterparts. They need to capture the spirit of the real article. BackBeat's passion for their love of 50’s and 60’s style music comes across to the audience who are always left with the impression that the band is having a great time too.
The bands, as musicians, have researched their parts musically and the instruments used to ensure the music is represented as accurately as possible.
This has no doubt helped them to sustain their level of bookings at theatres and holiday camps as well as private and corporate functions.
Their main vocalist is Lee, an excellent vibrant front man with a huge personality and presence. His enjoyment of the stage will always shine through. For two years Lee appeared in a major production playing Buddy Holly and totally fronted his last rock’n’roll show touring the UK.
On keyboard is Jerry, a fantastic musician, also with a great voice. He can play tribute to 50’s & 60’s acts (Jerry Lee, Ray Charles, Spencer Davies, Eric Burden) with amazing resemblance to their sounds. Jerry has worked with most of the top UK’s artistes and recently toured with the hit show ‘Knocking on Heavens Door’
Lead guitar is with Mark and he holds a wide knowledge base of guitars, amps and musicianship accurately recreating guitar sounds and can play many styles which precisely replicate his influences.
Dave is a top professional drummer who holds vast experience for any given situation. Amongst his many shows, he has recently toured with the tribute show to Roy Orbison ‘In Dreams’ and is a superb asset to the band.
Clayton has extensive knowledge of playing in bands covering many genres. His forte is jazz double bass. He has supported names such as the Ted Heath Big Band, The Beverley Sisters and toured the UK with the successful show 'A tribute to ELVIS'.
